The Waxman-Markey
Cap & Trade Bill
Warren Buffett Says
"It's a Huge Tax"
Full House Vote
Expected on Friday
The U.S. House of
Representatives is expected to
vote on the Waxman-Markey Bill,
H.R. 2454, on Friday. The
Oracle of Omaha,
Warren Buffett, is
calling its cap and trade
provisions "a Huge Tax."
At more than 1,000 pages, this
central planning extravaganza
will give the federal government
sweeping new powers to control
energy producers and users,
thereby limiting consumer choice
and imposing greater
bureaucratic burdens on
virtually every business and
household in America. We
share Mr. Buffett's view that
the financial costs will be
staggering. Perhaps more
important, the damage done to
America's free enterprise system
will be historic, unnecessary,
and sad.
See how pleased Mr. Buffett
sounds about the prospects?
